SCOTNEY CASTLE
Scotney is a romantic ruined medieval castle that sits on its own moated island and forms the centrepiece of Edward Hussey III's Picturesque garden with expansive views across the estate, woodland glade, quarry garden, moat, walled garden, hidden walkways, heather-thatched icehouse and a Victorian boathouse. There are lots of natural play areas, parkland and woodland to explore, and a packed programme of family activities to keep younger visitors happy. It’s also dog friendly.

BEWL WATER
This Sprawling countryside park has year-round activities. Whether you take to the waters for a relaxing afternoon of fishing or enjoy wildlife spotting on land, Bewl Water is a place for peace and tranquillity.

GO APE
From four to eighty-four, with a head for heights or not, Go Ape offers exhilarating outdoor activities. From high ropes courses for kids to high ropes courses for adults, bouncy nets 30 ft above the forest floor, to all-terrain Forest Segways, plus so much more.

BLACKBERRY FARM PARK
This great value family run farm park offers a huge selection of outdoor play, farm animals and exciting rides for the whole family to enjoy. There’s a range of food outlets on offer as well as outdoor picnic areas.

BODIAM CASTLE
With its huge towers and wide moat, Bodiam Castle looks like a classic ‘bucket and spade’ castle. But for the man who built it, Sir Edward Dallingridge, the castle was a secure home, designed to impress. As an experienced soldier and warrior knight who had fought in France, he was well aware of the threat of invasion and revolt. The medieval ruins of his castle are a great place to explore and imagine yourself back in the past, defending the castle from enemies or feasting in the great hall.

CHARTWELL HOUSE
Home of Sir Winston Churchill and his family Chartwell House is filled with treasures, gifts and personal belongings, presented as they knew it. The formal rose garden was designed by Lady Churchill and leads into the terrace lawn with views over the surrounding estate and countryside. The Landemare Café serves light lunches, cakes and bakes.

GROOMBRIDGE PLACE
Groombridge Place is a moated manor house in the village of Groombridge near Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England. It has become a tourist attraction, noted for its formal gardens and vineyards. The Enchanted Forest and Gardens is the place to visit for an amazing outdoor family adventure and the Peacock Café serves a great choice of food and drinks.

FRUIT PICKING
Downingbury Farm Shop & Café is a great place to stock up on some locally-sourced produce – including preserves, cakes, chocolate, apple juice, wine and ale, and an extensive deli range too. It’s also a great place to pick your own fruit, and they’ve got strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, blackberries and plums. There’s also a lovely little coffee shop which makes a great cuppa and whips up some delectable slices of cake too.

CAMDEN ARMS
This gastro-style pub is comfortable and relaxed with friendly service, a welcoming atmosphere and a good choice of lunch and dinner menus.

BLACK HORSE
A rustic gastro pub with exposed beams and a large inglenook fireplace. It has a heated outdoor terrace and a conservatory restaurant serving home-cooked food and a carvery on a Sunday.

KING WILLIAM IV
You can watch the world go by from the front of the pub or lose yourself in the large garden at the rear. There’s also regular live music and a selection of local ales.
