FAQ’S

To make it easier for you to make a booking decision we have answered our most often asked questions here. If you have a query that isn’t covered below please contact using the form at the bottom of the page.

  • Yes, if possible, please book by using the calendar and pitch. During the summer months, we expect a minimum of two days (Bank Holiday weekends are required to be 3 days minimum booking).

  • When camping in the open field, you can drive your vehicle to your pitch and unload, then you must park in the specified area. Cars can be driven and parked at Woodland pitches.

  • We only allow dogs in the woodland tent pitches, and only a limited number at any one time. Only one dog is allowed per booking. They must be kept on leads at all times and all dog fouls must be cleared up and deposited within bags in the rubbish bins.

  • Only logs supplied by Strictly Camping can be used on the firepits.

Please do not use wood from our woodland or bring any wood with you as it may carry disease. Even though it may not look like it, firewood isn’t dead. Live wood-boring beetles, tiny insect eggs, microscopic fungi spores, and more can be hidden in and on even the healthiest looking wood. These organisms cannot travel far on their own, but can travel hundreds of miles hidden within a firewood bundle. When introduced to a new location, these pests and diseases can cause significant damage to native forests that have little to no defences against this new threat. To help protect our forests, please don’t move firewood.

  • Requests for logs must be made the previous day, before 7 pm. We will deliver the logs to your pitch (delivery times are roughly between 5:00 - 7:00 pm the next day). Payment taken on delivery.

  • For environmental and safety reasons, we do not allow disposable BBQs. We supply grills for fire pits - this will be on a first come first serve basis.

You are very welcome to bring your own grill to use on the firepit. The minimum size for a grill to fit is 21 inches or 54 cm long.

  • There is no one on site after 6.30pm. If you know you will be arriving after this time, you must contact us immediately to advise us. 07732 165080.

If possible we will try to accommodate you. We reserve the right to decline access to the camp that evening and arrangements will be made for the next day.

  • Music played at an acceptable level is permitted up until 10 pm.

  • You will receive confirmation of your booking once you have completed your online booking.

  • Someone from your group will be required to be on site to show you to your pitch.

If you have any other questions please contact us using this form. We will get back to you as soon as we can (this is usually within 24 hours).

  • "The owners were really friendly and helpful, coming round to check everything was okay and if we needed anything. They also helped out with an ice pack when our youngest sprained their wrist. The facilities were kept spotless. It was excellent that the shower block near us had independent heated showers, so no chance of running out of hot water when it gets busy. We stayed here for woodland walks and day trips to London and Brighton. There is so much to do nearby with Hever Castle, Bedgebury Pinetum and cycling and walks in the forest."

  • "Bob the owner was so friendly and accommodating. Wee stayed on a beautiful woodland pitch which was large enough for 3 to 4 tents! Although there are also pitches in the paddock area. Kit shelter was an added bonus. Ideal to sit under if it rains. We set up our kitchen area under it instead of pitching our utility tent. Lovely clean showers!"

  • "The location is well off the main road in amongst beautiful forest. The pitches are far enough apart that you truly feel like you are in the woods on your own! The pitches are large, have fire pits and Bob (more about Bob later) delivers you a huge bucket of firewood. Also the wooden lean-to/equipment store is a godsend to put all your equipment, table, chairs etc (especially if it rains). You can also use it as a handy kitchen. Very useful. Toilets are clean and plentiful. Bob (the owner) is absolutely fantastic. A really, genuinely helpful, friendly chap who make you feel at home immediately. We felt more like family that "visitors" Would definitely recommend this to anyone and would absolutely 100% go back."

  • "Owners were very friendly and helpful. All the portaloos and flushing loo were kept very clean and fresh. More logs were delivered on a daily basis (for a small fee). Each pitch has it's own wooden shelter, open to the elements, which we used as our kitchen and to shelter from the inevitable rain. It was such a brilliant idea. Beautiful scenery, loved being in the woodland. Take wellies! Supermarkets etc very nearby."

  • "Camping in the woods was fantastic. Got a real feel for nature. It was so calm and relaxing. Everyone of our 8 people party loved the stay. Will definitely be returning for another fun filled holiday. We loved it so much we stayed for an extra day."

  • "Received a warm welcome from Janeen on arrival, who drove us around on her 4x4 buggy so that we could find the perfect pitch for our tent and stay. We pitched up on the Woodland pitch 10 which was so peaceful. Being surrounded by greenery and wildlife really did help make our stay relaxing. We also really appreciated Bob and Janeen come by each day, early evening with wood logs and ice – such a great touch! And they even went out of their way to help find us a spare gas canister."

  • "I almost don't want to share this little gem of a place but that wouldn't be fair. So much privacy, quite and peaceful. I will definitely be going back. Bob is such a lovely man to chat to and he goes out of his way to help to make your stay comfortable. Clean toilet and showers and beautiful forest walks to be had. 10/10 A*"
